Boxster 981 fuel injectors.

Has anyone had problems with fuel injectors on their 981 Boxster? The car is MY 2013 and has been in dock for a couple of months at a local specialist. They have ordered new injectors from Germany and they are still waiting with no sign of nor estimate for delivery.
Any constructive comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
Al

Hi Alan,

Sorry to hear about your woes. I have to say that you don’t often hear about problems with injectors with these cars and I’m just interested to know your specialist’s reason for recommending replacing them [all?]: diagnostic fault codes, high mileage, poor starting and performance, rough running, etc.?

Have you tried filling up with premium fuel from one of the majors [Shell, Esso, etc.] who claim fuel system benefits from their additives, or using one of the proprietary additives like Redex Petrol Fuel System Cleaner to see if that helps?

Jeff

Hi.

As Jeff has said not heard of any problems on the 981 injectors

As been said hope it's been run on the premium fuels they do have additives to help keep the fuel system cleaner and run more efficiency.

Good luck with the fix

Alan,

Just another thought. Since there’s an undefined delay on the new injectors, you might want to consider engaging the services of one of the many injector testing and cleaning companies advertising online.

Jeff
