hello Everyone
first post

I have 2001 986 Boxster - totally stock
i want to spend some money on her

i need some advise - I've seen companies advertising exhausts from between £500 - £1500
i would like to know what's people thoughts on the best way forward

should I look at a total new system or back box
(or a sports exhaust)

to be honest I'm a novice and this is my first Porsche so any advise would be helpful

thanks

Me, I'd stay on the stock exhaust. Had a Lotus Elise with a 2ubuar exhaust that was unliveable with.

Where did you buy your car? Have you had your car at an indy or OPC for an inspection or did it come from one? I'd suggest making sure it is in tip top condition first

I brought it two years ago from Phil Raby cars, and get it serviced at the Porscheshop.Com in the westmidlands
its in VGC
i just wanted to spend some money the car, as its stock.

Hi - exhausts are a minefield. You can pay a lot and still end of with something that drones/resonates. My best advice is to buy based on personal recommendation (as you are doing!) and try to hear it.
Our preferred approach is to modify your existing, in a way similar to the Porsche Sports Exhaust. This costs 299 all-in.
Good Luck!

I would highly recommend Carnewal in Belgium for an exhaust mod, makes a 986 sound like a new shape gts without droning.
