My Boxster keeps steaming up on the inside of the vehicle. I have checked for leaks (it's not the door membranes) and can't seem to identify any obvious damp areas. In addition I have suspected that it does not always appear when it rains. This has been confirmed today - the vehicle has been kept in a covered car park for a week. I have then driven it for 25 miles in dry conditions. After parking the vehicle for 5 minutes I have returned to find it all steamed up. I would really appreciate any ideas or thoughts.

Mine had the coolant bottle in the boot split, a common problem. I don't recall it steaming up inside but the boot floor under the carpet was very wet. If this moisture found its way into the car it might cause steaming up with no rain. Also a leak in engine coolant in the engine might cause condensation in the car. On the same lines the heater matrix could be leaking.
Just thoughts but coolant is the only source of condensation without rain I can think of.

Do you have A/C? If you do, then it's possible that moisture in the air supply system or condensers (which remains in the system when you stop the car) is being liberated on startup.
I have A/C and don't usually use it much due to this effect. That said, A/C is the quickest way to clear a misty screen as it supplies dry air which removes moisture on your windows more quickly than waiting for heat.
