Boxster 987.1 - How Many Miles Did Your Clutch Last ?

Hello,

I have an 07 Boxster S with 56,000 miles on the clock and still on the original Clutch. I guess it can‘t be far off needing replacement but I wondered how many miles others had managed to eke out of their Clutch. If you have run a 987.1, how many miles did your clutch last before it needed replacing ? I know it’s all down to driving style etc but just curious.

I run an '05 987 Gen1 3.2S with 54,000 on the clock. I'm the 2nd owner. I assume I'm on the original clutch because it is engaging quite 'high' up the pedal movement. Like me, I suspect you are not far off a clutch change. Good luck!

hi
I have a cayman 987.1 its not just the clutch at 40 to 50 thousand miles .The flywheel will need changing ,so when doing all that rear main seal to and check the ims bearing it saves money in the long run .I have fitted lots of clutches at work then two months later flywheel or oil leaks

Late 2005 3.2S changed at 95k as wanted to check the IMS before a mayor road to the Algarve.

Original was in very good shape in fact could have done any 30k miles l was told, but changed it anyway.

A follow 3.2S owner is on 110k miles with the original clutch.

Good idea to replace IMS if possible
IMS NOT replaceable on later 987.1 It was built into the engine and needs a full strip down (You will need engine number to find out if yours has inbuilt IMS)

987.2 NO IMS !!!

My car has done 86k no clutch as far as I know
Why would the clutch need replacing under 100k unless badly driven by an earlier owner

Thanks for your responses. I‘ll be interested to see how long mine lasts - hadn’t appreciated how long they can last if driven carefully !
