Boxster 987 3.2 S Exhaust Replacement

I am thinking of changing the rear silencers on my Boxster to the Carnewal GT replacement (exchange option). Its a reasonable cost and still looks standard (although thinking of adding a Fabspeed Chrome tailpipe too), but I am concerned it might be noisey?
Does anyone have any experience of these or any thoughts or any other reasonably priced replacements?

The Carnewal adds a nice dose of volume and sporty sound.

Low revs a deeper louder tone, high revs is a thrill.

had mine on 18 months and it does make journeys that bit more special.

Standard was just toooo quiet for me but I didn’t want anything too loud.

This is a lot quieter than many aftermarket exhausts for driving round town.
Yet still noticeably louder than stock.

I‘ve had a Carnewal GT upgrade on my 2005 Boxster S since 2016 and I’m 100% happy with it. I previously thought there was something lacking in the sound of the standard exhaust.
The Carnewal GT produces a deeper more satisfying note on tick over and at low revs. Around town it’s completely civilised but accelerate hard and the exhaust makes a glorious sound. At motorway cruising speeds it isn’t obtrusive and there is no droning or resonanc. In the scheme of things it’s a relatively cheap modification and in my opinion it well worth €495.

Agreed Roger.

The only time you notice a slight negative is when you are going up a hill at constant throttle, particularly in high gear, when the exhaust is a lot louder than standard. (then best to drop it down a cog or two)
Thats when I get noise instead of sound.

M'way cruising for me, it makes a sporty sound instead of just tyre noise.
in the UK 70mph is ok, 75-80 plus on the continent sounds great.

I would endorse what all the rest have said though I only have experience on the 993. Everyone comments on how lovely it sounds and it is really easy to live with on the road. Carnewal is very easy to deal with as well. I'm seriously thinking of upgrading the Boxster.

I keep trying to get to one of the East Midlands meets, but something always crops up.
March one coincides with sons birthday, so I'm pencilling April in.

Laura & Charles - if you're there, I will try and find you and you can have a listen to my 987.

Probably too late for original discussion
I have just returned fro a mini road trip to Belgium and had a replacement 986 S Canewal 'Porsche' exhaust system fitted in place of an inherited so called stainless steel ear busting steel sports exhaust, by the owner Gert himself. He opened the garage on Saturday to do the job, took two hours and now I am able to enjoy my Boxster at all speeds/revs without a problem. Still has a healthy gurgle/bubble at low revs for the attention seekers plus a lovely rasping sound when pushed but absolutely no resonance and peace and quiet when touring at seventy ish .. Could not recommend this guy enough. He even advised on local accommodation and where to eat. For those unable to travel he does have an internet based mail order process offering a similar service for most models.
