Boxster 987 Car Cover

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a 987 boxster and due to it being Winter I am rearly able to use it. Unfortunately I do not own a garage so at the moment the car is at the recieving end of Englands rain and general bad weather.

What effect will the above conditions have on the soft top material etc..??

Also i would like to know if there is a particlar cover that is best for protecting the car against the elements and if so where from and how much ?? Genuine Porsche or not ??

Many Thanks

I have a Noah cover from Covershield. Its a very tough material and cleans very easily. The inner layers remain dry when it rains and includes a much softer felt material so as not to mark the paintwork. It's also mould resistant so it can stay wet/damp and still keep its properties.

Expensive, yes but in over 2 years it looks as good as new and the car remains in top shape.

Hi
I had a tailor-made outdoor one from Classic Additions for a TVR that I used to own. It was excellent, and it cost ~ £120 at the time (3 years ago). I bought another for my Boxster S at Ragley this year, but it's not the tailor-made design as they did not have one of them on the day. It was on offer for about £85.
I would recommend Classic Additions, but would definitely go for the tailor-made version. I would have thought they would retail for ~ £150 now. I think they advertise in Porsche Post.

Hi Mate, my 987 is also left out in the British weather. I purchased a fitted cover from 'Cover My Car' it has a soft touch inner skin to protect your car and is stormproof. It cost £197.49 and included a security locking kit. Their web site is www.coveryourcar.co.uk I think its still cheaper than building another garage!

I decided on the NOAH cover in the end.[:)]
