I bought boxster 3.4S 07 reg 2 weeks ago and this morning the keys would not activate the doors. Could open manually and start car but alarm went off so left on driveway. would appreciate feedback on likely problem

Gavin

If the car has been stood for 5 days or more, the alarm system switches off the wireless receiver to save power. There was actually a thread on the forum about this very subject earlier in the week.

A tub on the drivers" door handle or unlocking the door with key, but not opening it, deactivates the receiver, the. You can use the fob as normal.

There are two methods to activate it .1 pull the drivers door handle as if you are trying to open the car that will activate the car then use the key fob to open the car as usual .
2 Put the key in the lock turn it to the left for a second then back to center remove key and that will also activate the car again .
If would advice trying to set up a trickle charger some work of the cigarette lighter and some direct from the mains .
Hope this helps all Boxster go to sleep mode after about 5/7 days

Many thanks will try tonight. Used car last night though only 4 miles maybe underlying battery problem.

Got update turns out there is water getting into door causing short. I managed to drive to local opcwith no electrics!

Hope you get it sorted Gavin.
