Boxster 987 won't start

Hi guys I have a 2007 model year Boxster 987.
I last drove the car about a Month ago, and as there was finally some sunny weather I decided to get it out today.

when I tried to start it I got nothing, the starter wasn't even trying to turn it over - not even any clicks.

the battery is fully charged (left on a trickle charger), the microswitch on the clutch pedal seeems to be working (if I try to start without pressing clutch I get the message to depress the clutch).

Any ideas?

Last year I had the rear ECU replaced under the passenger seat (flooded compartment due to blocked drains under the clamshell). could the non-starting be related to this? Say not recognising the keys?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I think that would be odd if it has worked reliably since.

It does however sound like an immobiliser issue. The key has an imobiliser puck - if the signature of this isn't recognised the car won't start.

It could also be an electrical fault between the battery and starter motor, the starter motor itself or the ignition switch.

I don't think it's the steering lock, if I Lock/unlock the car when I'm sitting in it I can hear th e steering lock coming off.
