Boxster alarm system

We've got a '99 boxster 2.5 and suddenly the alarm keeps setting itself off for no apparent reason.
Has anyone had anything similar or any ideas please?

Used to happen in the summer due to heat build up. Check your battery and all drainage channels are clear in case water is building up and or condensation.

Just a thought. What I have seen on the UK boards is a problem with the tilt sensor. We do not have the tilt sensor in the US. The tilt sensor is next to the battery. Apparently water gets in the sensor and you get false alarms. I believe the cure is to relocate the sensor to under the seat.

If you find someone with a PST2 they can check the alarm system and determine the reason the alarm goes off.

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback - we got it sorted today - we took it to Autobahn in Coventry who diagnosed a faulty radio sensor.

So thanks for everything!
