Boxster CDR-22 CD/Radio Display Blank

Hi...wonder if anyone out there had come across a problem with the LCD Display Panel on the CD/Radio going blank. It's the removable anti-theft panel on the front of the CDR-22. All the buttons seem to work AOK but NO display.

I think these are made by Becker (seem very similar to the Becker Mexico CD 4337)...alternatively if you know of a Service Facility for Becker radios that would be good.

Would take it to my OPC but they'll charge me an arm and a leg for what will probably be a 50p bulb inside the removable panel.

Thanks

Before resorting to the OPC or other. Is it just a temporary glitch? have you taken the face panel off recently and then put it back?

If you have, try removing it again and re-attaching it, being carful to line up the two clips promerly. Also, check the contacts on the back of the panel, as mine has done a similar thing but it was due to a "bit of fluff" on one of the contacts. You see I always follow the good practice of taking the face off and putting it in the proper wallet for safe keeping. Sorry, what I meant was, I carelessly chuck the face in the side bin of the car (hence the fluff).

if its gone duff..........

wasnt there a display / face only for a 22 for sale in either PP or 911&PW for the last few months.
A bloke in Holland or somewhere like that ??

Don't recall the ad, but I thought the parts were coded to each other - so that they would not work if not matched?

pass on that Q Mark but..........

P121 this months PP top right ,he has an email address to ask a Q or P142 this months 911&PW but they say becker instead of porsche
10 points deducted on a concours [:D]

Had this happen to mine.... tried several million times taking the face off, carefully lining up the blah blah blah.

I took it to a caraudio shop and they whipped it out fired it up and ..... it worked.....

Back in the car and has worked fine ever since.

They said that sometimes the commands between sources (disc/radio) get muddled and it locks out...

Removing the power source completely (sometimes) resets the thing.

Sounds a bit far fetched but worked for me!!!!

Mine does this.Going in for service next month.Hope they can fix it under warrenty. One day it works the next day its blank. If its left in place it continues working, but if its removed its anybodys guess.Strange.
