BOXSTER COUPE

Helen has ressurected the original thread for you Lawrence (Thanks H!).

But whatever, until Porsche actually announce a model in a press-release there is no guarantee that anything will make it to the showroom!

Have you seen the spy shots in GT Purely Porsche this month, might answer your question.

NO ITS ATTACHED A FEW PAGES ALONG [:D][:D]ON MY ORIGINAL POSTING

Next generation Boxster Coupe is in todays Autocar with an expected entry level price sub £30K available in 2006. First out the BOX :-D will be the all new singing and dancing Roadster in 2005. Codenamed 987, the new Boxster will be an evolution of todays highly praised model. Key components such as its rear wheel drive platform, suspension, steering, brakes and electric systems will be carried over with only minor changes or upgrades according to Porsche insiders

To keep development costs down and further bolster production efficiency, the new car again shares a high percentage of parts with the larger more expensive and heavily upgraded 911 - the 997 due next year.

Power for the new Boxster will come from two lightly reworked horizontally opposed engines: the existing 2.7 and the 3.2 litre sixes. Both gain around 10 BHP together with considerable boost in low end torque to improve there already impressive responses.

Among the proposals before Porsche chairman Wiedeking is a stripped out Club Sport model running a powered up version of Porsche' s classic flat six.
This is rumoured to be a 3.4 litre unit with around 310 BHP

Other important changes to be incorporated on the new Boxster include a new interior design boasting higher grade materials. clearer instrumentation and revised switchgear placement.....

If you want the full monty go by a copy of Autocar .....
