Boxster Driving Experience

After receiving an invitation from Porsche, I spent the morning at Millbrook with an instructor driving a couple of 987s. The Alpine Circuit (see the February Porsche Post) is awesome and takes your breath away - real Porsche territory. It's just a pity you can't drive like that in the real Alps. The instruction was spot on (thank you Keith) and I learnt a lot about braking and setting the car up for corners. This was followed by the high speed banked circuit and a brake test on the two mile straight - proof, if needed, that we own a superb piece of engineering.

If you receive an invitation, you must go and do it (you don't really need me to say that); it's an absolute blast and teaches you a lot. [:D]
 
Funnily enough, I had an invitation through today! I am booked in to drive the Boxster and S at Llandow circuit towards the end of April, looking forward to it.

I'm guessing I had the invitation through due to my business?

Presumably through a list put together by my OPC. The invitation just came in the post.
 
I went on Monday. A great day including lunch. It is an abridged version of the driving experience Porsche charge £400+ for. My invitation came on the local OPC letter head but administered from PCGB. I was told that they have been running the experiences 3 weeks out of 4 across the product range. Last week it was the Boxsters turn.On the basis that Ivor's car and mine are similar ages it is probably just a case of a CRM system deciding it is time to butter us up and prompt us for a new order.
 
I think Llandow, and the like, are part of 'Test Drive Plus' for prospective customers.

The Millbrook Driving Experience is far more elaborate and is for customers who have actually purchased a new Porsche.
 
I was on the Boxster driving experance on Friday the 31st. I would recommend anybody who has an invation to take full advatage
of even though it is a sales ploy. But saying that, the experance reivgerated my enthusiasm Porsche and driving my Boxster. Which
I have started to take for granted. At the moment I am considering more one to one tuition.
