BOXSTER FLAT SPOT!!

Boxster manual, seems to have a flat spot when changing up from 1st - 2nd

Anyone had similar problem?
 
John, I'd agree with Cliff - the MAF should be your first port of call. You could just try disconnecting it first to see if that clears the problem - the DME will revert to a default setting - but if you're already in there it's probably advisable to pull it out and clean it or maybe replace it.

If that doesn't work then it'll be more efficient to run some diagnostics to get a better handle on the problem if it's ignition, injection or exhaust-related. I can't recall which version of Boxster you have but I seem to recall that (relatively rare) high pressure fuel pump problems on the Gen2 engines can lead to rough running.

Dont know if this helps but had similar problem with my 997 around 3k rpm, turned out to be hairline crack in coil packs.
