Just a heads up if your looking for a GTS fully loaded drivers car.
Mine will be going next week in px to OPC Tewkesbury, it is a lovely car I only bought it as a stopgap after selling the GT3 but still have it 18 months later. I have been very impressed and in a lot of ways sorry to see it go as its irreplaceable in this spec and pretty much all the sports car anyone could want. It is close to Spyder spec with a proper roof. I expect Tewkesbury to put it up at high 60's, the spec is below with a piccy. I would like it to go to a good home where it will be looked after and driven, its covered 6500 miles just been serviced and in addition to the spec it has a Paintshield front wrap and Zunsport grilles.

Hi Dyllan

I am hoping for a GT3, I have a LOI in with Reading and my local OPC Nottingham, I have been told by Reading I am not successful in this batch but they are holding my LOI for the next allocation in 2018. As far as Nottingham is concerned I'm not sure, they contacted me earlier in the week to confirm my interest but have not heard since, I don't really expect a car from this batch and am happy to wait and hope. It is really difficult building that "good customer relationship" when a lot of your cars are purchased used because I buy on the cars spec so I spend hours looking through the adverts for a car that meets the criteria and then buy when the right car is found. So I have to hope that with my local OPC the extra work and servicing together with lots of nagging has a value.
The reason I am selling is quite by chance I saw a GT4 last week when I went with a friend to collect his Turbo S. I sold my previous GT3 to buy a GT4 nearly 2 years ago which fell through and having bought the GTS I stopped looking at GT4'S didn't want to pay £100K plus at the time for the right spec if I could not get a new car. This car at Tewkesbury had nearly everything I would have chosen and as it was reasonably priced with virtually no mileage I have decided to do the deal.
If I'm lucky enough to get a GT3 I don't expect that to happen until at least 12 months time by then I will have used the GT4 and can make the decision based on my actual understanding of both cars.
So for the time being I will hopefully get some fun from the GT4 while I hope that I can persuade Porsche they should sell me a 991.2 manual GT3

Makes perfect sense Geoff !
i intended spending half my pension lump on a new GT3RS but absolutely no joy from several OPC and I'm not prepared to make some speculator the £70-80 k over that they're asking .
but the nearly GTS I've got is a lot of fun so I'll invest the lot and hope I'm luckier next year
good luck and enjoy the GT4

Brian

I did reply to your PM on Saturday, I have replied again this morning and also sent a new PM so hopefully you will have an answer.

Well the car has gone, it is now up for sale with Porsche Tewkesbury for £67981.
A very special car I am in a lot of ways very sad to see it go but I cannot afford to have 2 Porsche's.
Hopefully it will find a good home as there are very few GTS Boxsters that have this many boxes ticked it listed at £78k.

Drat. Just got an email today from non-member friend looking for a red, manual GTS. Sod's law!

I like the GTS but these prices are crazy, a top speced up 981 Spyder was only £65k new !

And a nice top speced 981 Boxster S is £43k my mates just got one with every thing, stunning car/value and from an OPC.

which leaves the GTS in no mans land imo as the £43k cars are so good and can be had high spec, there seems no value in the GTS at £25k more than a mint S

this was exactly my thinking mr D
i trawled around and found a 18 month S with everything on ( list £74k) including all the GTS stuff ( apart from 15hp!) and paid £30k off list price
now in south France after a beautiful run down
magic

Its £12k less than a top spec Spyder if you want to buy one now.
Last of the N/A etc etc,
and you can put stuff in the boot with the roof up !!!:ROFLMAO:

A pity i didnt get a chance at this before it went to the opc . Its
a great car but not at that price . Its got me thinking about looking
for an ideal spec S though ..

I was going to offer £52k for it as a run about , until Geoff told me what he got as a trade in !! pointless selling private at that trade in price. ( also was high due to what he bought I guess)

Not a good value car the GTS now, and all of a sudden a gut of them on the OPC sales sites, I guess the PCP hand backs where no one can pay the balloons off !!.

we have gone from about 5 GTS to 31 Boxster and Cayman GTS for sale in a month !!!

I think the problem in this country as a whole for most commodities is that people are prepared to pay through the nose for items that are plainly not good value/ worth it.
if people boycotted such things then these overrated, overpriced items would be left on suppliers shelves and they would have to be reduced to more realistic, less greedy prices.
just my two pennorth!!

I recently test drove this car together with the red 981 S they also have in stock .
I wanted to give it a try to see if it tickled my fancy enough to
say to hell with the price and if not at least to have tried all the options on offer .
Fabulous drive . Beautiful colour combo . Apart from the price i found that the buckets
crimped my shoulders and in the end was the main thing that was not right for me .
The ceramics were great though a bit overly sensitive compared to the ones i had on a previous
996 turbo . I would soon adapt to them but not a car you could let most people have a drive
in !

The red car was PDK which i found surprisingly good to use . Not the right options on this
car for me but a well specced 981 is making a great case at around £45k .

Why do you think it was a car you could not let most people drive ?

I think the buckets do depend on your size I am only 5'9" and quite small across the shoulders but I found the buckets really comfortable.

I was really impressed with the car and am surprised its not sold irrespective of the price.
