....... the rear wheel nearside.

It's like a stick in a bicycle wheel that is heard better at certain speeds. Not really very loud at any time.

Any ideas?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

What on earth is a shoogle?

Is that some sort of activity like surfing the Internet in Scotland? Is it based on Scottish Googling? Or Googling under the influence of Scotch - we deserve to be told [:)].

And, for Admin, why am I always shown as being 'off line' when I am on the Internet? Is it personal?

911sse - I have heard of a Boxster and 996 recently with rattles from the rear nearside, and it was found to be the handbrake drum shoes rattling. Some careful adjustment of the cables sorted the problem. As a check, try applying the handbrake just a little and see if it goes away.

chrono - sound like a drop link or lower control arm.

Thanks Richard, I'll take it back to the garage and make the suggestion. I'll let you know...

I had a similar experience when i fitted new locking bolts on my Boxster. Turns out they were longer than the originals and protruded into the handbrake chambers on the rear. The click was caused as the bolt hit the shoe retaining spring every revolution. Eventally it did break the spring on the nearside rear. I thought the zorst had come off. May not be the it but worth a look.

Well, after both rear heat shields and the manifold shield getting new clips that solved the rattling noise.

Got both the rear wheels bearings replaced at the same time, one was fairly worn and noisy!

Now, its just the noise of the flat 6, tyres and a bad stereo!![FONT=verdana, geneva"]
