Boxster Heated Seat Issue

Looking for some help with the heated drivers seat in my 2003 Boxster S.
I can turn on the seat, light illuminates and it starts to get warm but turns off after a minute or so when it is luke warm. Passenger seat works just fine. Both seats are in good condition with no damage to the leather.
Is there a thermostat or the like fitted somewhere in the seat that I should be hunting for or am I going down the wrong road with this?
 
The seat wiring diagram doesn't show a thermostat. There might be a 'stat in the heater elements, but it isn't shown. I would start by swapping the "adjustable cu seat heater" (a relay-like device) for the one in the passenger side, to see if the problem transfers to that seat.
