Boxster heater issues

Hello peps,

I have a 2003 Boxster S on a 52 plate and have a question with regard to the heater.
The car runs really well and runs at around 80 degrees according to the display. The problem is that the heater blows lovely and warm air out of the vents when set to 'Hi' but when set to any other temp it blows cold.

Any ideas please

Hi,i had the same problem and it turned out to be the climate control sensor which if my memory is right is on the far left of the dashboard behind the air grill.I bought a secondhand one on ebay but i think they are about £40 new.It is a easy job to do yourself.Good luck.Regards,Jeremy.

Thanks .... this has been suggested from another forum as well..... I have just ordered one from eBay so fingers crossed.

I know these forums are searchable on google etc ... so should some one need it then I can confirm that the fault lay in the Cabin Temperature sensor. As Jeremy above stated it is located behind the passengers side air vent. A replacement cost £20 from eBay.

To fit remove the two hex screws, they are on the side of the dash only visible when the door is open wide.
Under the vent there is a plastic mesh type thing, pop this out using a sharpe knife or screw driver. Hidden in here there is another hex screw that needs to come out. Then just pull the vent unit off the dash.
The sensor can then be removed and replaced. Then pop it back together and job done :)
