Boxster hood plastic trim

As a relatively new 987 Boxster owner I don’t know if this is a problem or not...

i have noticed that the hood occasionally escapes from the plastic trim that surrounds the side of the hood so that the fabric sits outside the trim. I have put it back by partially opening the hood but eventually it escapes again. Is this pointing to a hood fault and likely to leak or just a feature of the hood?

I have had this same issue for the last 3 years ... and my OPC have tried fixing it several times, without success. The last time they even replaced the cables. It seems to be a "feature" of an older roof, and I have got into the habit of guiding it into the side trim with my hand as it closes.
Fully agree it's annoying, particularly if the hood is in perfectly good condition and a full replacement seems pointless.
Maybe someone else has a different experience / solution. *fingers crossed.

Have you had any leak issues when the hood escapes from the trim? I haven't so far and am just wondering if I need to watch carefully or not.

Beat me to it!! Easy to fix and BoXa.net is the best place to look for info on all Boxster issues.
