Hi Guys

Hoipe you can help.

I am now the proud owber of a 2000 2.7. Firstly this is my forst Porsche and I must say I love it!!!!!!!

Couple of questions, I am just on the borader of Herts & Beds. The vehcile supposedly had a new AOS just before me buying it and I have just had fitted new sparks and ign colis, coolant flush brake fluid and oil change filters etc.

I still think there is an issue with a slight hesitation sometimes, and the car smells as if it running rich, having said that I do drive it hardish and see on average 19mpg.

Does anyone know where I can take may car for a diagnostic and possible tune up, as I am lead to believe on these older 986 models you can have them tuned.

Lastly, I have a daugher who is 8 and would love to come out with me, can any one recomend somewhere to fit an airbag cut off

Thanks

Hi Gazza. Sorry cant help with the tech stuff. But would like to welcome you to the Club [:)] Sure you will enjoy it now the summer is arriving? Although feels like it has past us by already[] Sure there is a feed on the forum about AOS? Worth having a search.
Hope to catch up some time. Enjoy [:D]

Hi Gazza.

I think you'll find that RPM Technik is fairly close to you if you need a good Indie:

There's also Auto2000 in Bedford:

They should be able to give you some advice on your issues and run a diagnostic test if necessary. On a 12 year old car it could be anything (dirty MAF, faulty injector, faulty sensor - of which there are many, etc.), and the easiest way to find out is to run a check, otherwise you're into swapping components one at a time which is a bit hit-and-miss and can be expensive at Porsche prices.!

You could also try contacting the Hatfield Porsche Centre for advice on the airbag cut-off.

Enjoy the motor (hopefully with your daughter too!).

Hi Gary
Welcome to the club and the Boxster register.
Both of the indies already mentioned are great and it might be worth you attending the complimentary service clinic at PC Cambridge on 28th April where the technicians are on hand to answer any questions that you have and to get your car on the ramp free of charge.
If you would like to join us let me know as we still have a couple of places available.

Enjoy the car and I hope to meet you soon

Regards
Tracy
