boxster rear boot

I cannot open the rear boot on my 968 boxster either by the footwell latch or key, this was working fine yesterday on both options anyone know how i can open thge boot.
 
It sounds like a loose connection - or blown fuse?

There is an emergency release cable under the rear wheel liner on the passenger side.You will need to get the wheel off and the liner out to be able to get to it.
 
Mark thanks for reply re rear boot, the problem rectified its self yesterday after a drive over some speed bumps where we then found some string had got caught in the lock mechanism the last time boot was shut, still handy to know for next time.
