Boxster roof not folding correctly!!!

Don't know if any one else has had this problem but its getting quite annoying. When I come to close the roof on my boxster the outer edge of the roof above the door window either side does not fold inside the car. Its only ever one side either the passenger side or the drivers side. If I open the roof and immediately close it there is no problem both sides fold in, its when the roof has been open for a while the problem persists. I have to open it a couple of times until the problem side folds inside the car. It looks like to me that it needs adjusting, almost like it is too slack. Does anyone know if I can do the adjustment or does it need to go to OPC.

Does anyone know if I can do the adjustment or does it need to go to OPC.

If the car is out of warranty I would personally go to a coach trimmers who are fitting new roofs every day and really know their stuff [;)]

Sounds like one of the tension cables. They run across the back and along the sides between the A & B pillars.

If you remove the trim behind the seat, there is a little screw holding an elastic cable down Its possible that the cable sheared away from the holder thats screwed down to the body.

my 04 3.2s has just starting doing this also. It is always the drivers side - have not had chance to look at it as yet , however my vehicle is covered by the OPC warranty so may be able to get this soted FOC .
Very annoying problem as I have to conciously push the roof in toward the car when its on its way up !!!.
Sorry cannot be of any assistance at this stage but at least you are not alone.

Like Sandeep, I have to guide the right hand side of the roof into the correct position as I close it; at least I can easily do this without moving from the driver's seat.

It is not a major issue, as far as I am concerned, but I would be interested to know whether anyone thinks it may be related to the slight squeak I hear as the car flexes over a bumpy surface. I believe it is caused by friction between the top of the window glass and the roof frame. The noise only occurs on the one (same) side and I do find it mildly irritating so, if I can sort two minor issues at once, I shall tackle it.

BTW which bit of trim was Popolou referring to? It's hard enough reaching behind the seats without undoing the wrong thing when I get there :)
