Boxster S 550 Anniversary insurance

Have a car arriving at the start of March and am looking to set up insurance. The Anniversary edition is not on any insurer's system (even Porsche insurance who said it would be treated on the same basis as a Carrera 4, bizarrely). I have one vaguely sensible quote obtained from Hill House Hammond - the underwriter was contacted directly, knew about the car and said to treat it as a standard Boxster S with the Anniversary edition info. being noted on the policy. The web-based insurers are unable to quote on the car. One, whose quote for a Boxster S came out at just under £1100, said it would likely be over £3000 for the Anniversary edition. Hopefully that was someone speaking out of turn!

Anyway - question is: any ideas for getting sensible quotes!

It is just a Boxster S with a bunch of options. (And 8 bhp more... but in the scheme of things I can't see that will make any difference!)

Try the advertisers in the back of Porsche Post - they should know what they are doing.

I think direct line have it on their system - there's a discussion on this on boxa.net - you might want to have a look.
