Boxster S Anniversary

Hi you guy's,
Just bought a Boxster S Anniversary with just over four figures on the clock and I am really loving it so much I think I have become an overnight Porsche convert.
As I bought it from my local official Porsche agent here at Silverstone in Northamptonshire it has the usual 12 month warranty which suits me just fine at present but, I did ask the agent about a retro fit MP3/Iphone adapter by Bose on the already fitted Bose system but I was told it was not possible!
My next question to the Porsche agent was can a Porcshe/Bose system which is Iphone compatable be retro-fitted without any danger to the warranty, but I never felt I got a proper answer to this question?
So what I am really asking for help on from you guy's with the "Porsche experience" on this Forum is: Is the second option possible via a Porsche agent ?
If not, what effect would an after factory product have on the cars overall Porsche warranty?

Thanks, Boris Tociapski.

As far as I know, anything aftermarket will invalidate the warranty [&o]

Porsche have been denying warranties for the most rediculous reasons - paint protection film on the paint (that affects the mechanicals HOW?) GT3RS wheel fitted to a GT3 (same size, same style, different colour [])

Seriously for the meantime you are best going for a FM transmitter... Horrible as they are.

A forum friend fitted a Dension 500 to my 550. But as Mark says, if you fit in now, you will invalidate your Porsche warranty.

Welcome fellow 550 owner, they are superb cars.

Mark is perfectly correct. I bought mine off my best friend who had an expensive Alpine/Bose stereo install done, with TV, DVD, ipod adapter, etc.

It already had the warranty on when I bought it, but when I came to renew my OPC wouldn't touch it, (and yet they told my friend who to use for the install, the same company they use for certain electrical work).

So in a nutshell anything you after market fit will invalidate the warranty. Never mind the car makes up for it and you can always get a warranty elsewhere to be honest.

Guy in Scotland on another forum Non N tyres invalidated warranty!

Wouldn't that also invalidate insurance as they are not manufacturer's recommended?

Hi
I have got a Mobridge fitted which works with an Iphone/Ipod but only to play music. The phone is PCM with a SIM card.
Its fitted under the bonnet in place of the CD changer connected via the same optical cable, ipod in the glove box and controlled from the PCM/nav screen.
Its like a CD changer with 100s of albums to choose from.
My 2 year warranty expires next month.
My OPC recommended this over their own system.
I am sure that others on here are correct when they say that Porsche maintain that this invalidates the warranty, but my personal view is that the small claims court would laugh at Porsche as an optical connection cannot possibly have a mechanical influence! But I have not needed to test my theory![:D]
I don't think manufacturers do themselves any good at all by this sort of nonsense as Toyota have recently found to their cost.[]

No, Digby. Brampton has an F4 (I think) Phantom.
