Appreciate I can't get a precise figure but was wondering what would I expect to pay as the difference if I wanted to trade up from a 2002/51 Boxster S Tip, 48K miles and full history for a similar 996 Carrera or Cabrio with a manual gear box from a dealer.

Would £4-5K be about right?

i dont think your too far out ! all the models are falling as we type ! you should find a like for like deal but opc will want to take some cash off you but at least you will have a warrenty and peace of mind , which is priceless at the moment ! good luck - i had a few boxsters and finally traded my 2.7 06 for a 996 cab and would say the 996 is an amazing car compared to the boxster but others will disagree and say boxster is best! - its what you want that matters and nothing else . there are some deals to be done at the moment [;)]

Boxster S's of that age are selling at around 12k - 996 Cabs of the same age are going for around 21k

If you go to a dealer I think you'll be looking at 10k to change.

I reckon I'd go for a coupe or stick with the Boxster - 911 cabs look nice but the Boxster S is a better drive with the top down IMO.
