Hello All, Boxster S query, 2002 Car
I have a 'tappety' noise coming from the car , It has been stood largely since August 2010, following an accident in it ( I bought it damaged to repair and use it).
The car has 38000m with a full Porsche service record to date. Oil was changed in Sept 2009 , (Mobil 1) The car was crashed in Aug 2010 just prior to next service being due.
I'm uncertain as to the cause of it, but was told the noise is likely to be valve lifters having drained and needing to be re-pressurised, would like to know, will they do this by sitting idling, or does the car need to be driven to pressure up again.
any help or opinion appreciated, obviously hoping its not an IMS rattle
