Boxster S Owner moving up

I'm thinking of changing my Box for a 3 year old 996 C4S Cab - any tips on what I should be looking for (apart from the obvious FSH and low mileage) before I start viewing cars ?
I'm in the North East, so I shall probably have to travel round the country to find a good one - so I want to be able to make all appropriate pre-inspection checks before committing myself to wasted mileage.
Thanks Chris

Sorry to bother you guys again, but I need to pick some brains with more expertise than my own.
Can anyone advise me on the appropriate service intervals for an 04 model 996 C4S Cab - the one I am looking at was last serviced in May 06 and the dealer says that is ok since service intervals are 2 years or 9000 miles - does this model not have to have an annual 'inspection' regardless of mileage ?
Chris

The maintenance schedules are shown in the Technical Articles section.

edit: The dealer is correct - for an 04 model no annual service is required, so you would need a minor maintenance service (at least) at 12000 from the last service or after 2 years.

Now you have got me confused - I think you are saying that it is ok on this car since it has not done 9000 since its last service in May 06. You seem to be agreeing with the dealer who says the service intervals were changed for the 04 cars.

Sorry Chris

I'll amend my post. The dealer is correct - it doesn't need a service until it has done 12000 miles from the last service (or two years).

Thanks Richard - you have made me feel a lot happier about parting with the cash ! I'm sure it will be a good investment and give many years of pleasure.
Chris

Hoping to join you guys this weekend (subject to the bank manager playing ball ! )
Only thing the 'new' car hasnt got is leather sun visors - is it possible to arrange an after market job on these and if so does anyone know a company that could do a good job at reasonable cost ?
Chris

Dont want to count any chickens too soon in case things go pear shaped (or is that mixing my metaphors ) - but it is a 04 C4S Cab (still want to see the sky occasionally ! ) with lots of factory fitted extras, in Lapis blue with full met blue leather (apart from the visors that is ! ) - just hope I succeed in getting it home in one piece ! (the car and me that is ! )
Chris

As you can now see I have gone and done it - amazing car - going to have lots of fun !
Has anyone got any info on aftermarket leather sun visors ?
I'll try and post a pic when I've got the new numberplate on - if my techie ability is up to it !
Chris
