Boxster Spacesaver Wheel

Can anyone help - does the space saver wheel from a 986 Boxster fit a 981? I am off on holiday next week to drive the NC500 and wondered if it is worth taking this with me, just in case. Obviously I can simply try it over the weekend but you might save me the bother!
Thanks
David

I will wrap it in a plastic sheet and attach it to the boot lid with bungee cords and drive very carefully!! Better than being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Or..... you could buy the best type of puncture repair kit that will give an almost permanent repair anytime anywhere....

I've always carried one of those kits, unless you have a real bad one will give good repair to get you home. On the shopping car had repair in one of the Tyres for at least 2 years with no problems

Whilst visiting the Silverstone classic at the weekend I purchase said kit from the distributor
Auto -Seal info@autoseal.co.uk 01278 671 900 They also do a permanent product where you can fill the tyre with a sealant , unlike the gunk that Porsche and others supply .The demo he did was very impressive ,this product is used mainly on bikes .No affiliation to the vendor just impressed with the products and hope I never have to use it .

I bought a genuine Porsche jack etc for my 981 off ebay. The jacks and jacking points have stayed the same for years, so a jack from a 986/996 etc will be fine. I've so far noticed 3 punctures (all nails) when the car was in the garage and hence have been able to at least remove the wheel and take it in our other car to get it fixed. Saves lots of b---ering about. I also have one of the puncture repair kits for when I am miles from nowhere.

I have the jack etc. with the 986 space saver wheel. Anyway happy to report NC500 completed without mishap or a puncture!! (actually did 905 miles in total) Great trip, wonderful scenery, nice driving roads, even the weather was fairly kind so roof down a lot and good hospitality everywhere we stayed - but make sure you book ahead as we did, now becoming a popular trip and accommodation can be limited.
