Boxster Theft In Newmarket

Hi
just for info really - the local rag reports the theft of a Boxster from a private residence in Newmarket - the thieves broke into the house and found the keys - it seems the theft of keys from the house to take luxury/sports cars is very much on the increase[]
keep your keys secure!!

Equally, if your car is on the drive and you are in the house, would you keep the keys somewhere that if you were in the house, you could easily spot (and not somewhere that can be seen from outside). Thus, if anyone does break in, they can take the car and go rather than greeting you, your partner or your kids with a baseball bat demanding the keys....

Hi Andrew ... Was just reading in yesterdays Daily Mail about a
North London gang who were selling there stolen cars for 10% of
their actual market value and only thing more sickening was the
pathetic sentences these bastards received after nicking
£3.5 Million Pounds worth of luxury cars ...

They got from 2.5 years to 6 Years for the number one man[]
Bloody joke....

Having been a victim of this crime back in May this year 3.00am & they smashed into the house via the kitchen doors windows,
after seeing her indoors handbag sitting on the worktops.

I have taken several steps to avoid this happening so easliy to me again.

Firstly we now sleep with the keys and to deter any would be thieves
we also lock all the doors downstairs. So if they break in they are
basically stuck in that room.

Secondly we have beefed up kitchen door windows to laminated thicker
glass, will break but not as easily.

Thirdly have fitted bigger, tougher secutity hinges to the side door they
kicked out on there exit from my house.

And before you ask we always go to bed with the house alarmed and
even though the alarm went off one of the 4 gang members couldn't
resist snatching her handbag on the off chance the car keys were in it.
Which they were [:'(] along with tons of incidental other stuff.

Well I hope these few new measures may deter the smash and grab
merchants who may wish to help themselves to my current tackle [:D]
