Could some one with 986 please confirm the overall width from outside edge of wing mirror to the other .I have a 987 and it is 2010 .The reason some one wants to buy a Boxster and mine will not go through the garage opening so i thought the 986 would be smaller ,also in the 987 you cannot fold the mirrors in they just spring back does the 986 do the same .
Thanks in advance
Brian

Alan could you measure your car for me

Brian, the mirrors fold in and stay on my 986. I will measure width, but not at this time of night.

Alan.

Having parked a 986 & a couple of 987's in my garage the 987 is wider at the rear so if that is where the problem is, but it sounds tight, what is the width of the entrance?

Brian, its 70.1 inches (1780 mm) for a 986 for width according to the Porsche Booklet. Length in case you need it is 4,320mm.

Thanks guys the mirrors do indeed fold back and lock in position overall 1810 locked and 1950 unlocked .
Alan i would have went out in the middle of the night if you had asked me [:D] [:D][:D]

I reverse into the garage at a slight angle and then turn the front across so I can get out of the driver's side, probably a lot of others on here do likewise.

As the 981 has been widened at the front and middle this will cause a lot of people problems so a real pity that the Baby Boxster seems to have been scrapped. Since it was to share the floorpan of the VW Bluesport and Audi R4 both cancelled.
