Boxster Windows Issue

I have noticed that my windows lower for the doors to be opened but intermittently raise themselves before the door is closed, leading to a potentially disasterous glass shattering experience. Can anyone offer any advice, please?
Thanks
Andy

A temporary trick whilst getting into the car is to pop open the roof catch whilst closing the door to save them scraping on the roof. Doesn't work getting out though.

Until it's fixed, just close the door by pushing on the top of the glass to close the door.

Bends the glass far enough to pop it under the roof line.

A trick I noticed in the bodyshop when the batteries are disconnected on the cars.

Thanks chaps,

Some good "dodges" here to help me while I figure out what is wrong. It does not happen all the time, so, with care, I can open and close the door.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice. To be honest, the car has been mothballed during the winter and I only got it out a few weeks ago and have not used it much since. I was hoping (still am) that the problem would go away after using the car a few times. Do you mind me asking how much the sensor cost and is it a job you can do yourself?
Cheers
Andy

Andy,
I have a similar problem with the door glass dropping/rising. I recon its a microswitch related problem in the latch mechanism. A new unit is around £100. Like you mine has been in storage (still is) and I was hopeful the use would fix the problem. I'll know in a few weeks when it comes out, assuming the weather has improved!

Thanks Gabriel, I am going to get to this in a few days time. Was the £100 for the part only or did it include fitting?
