Boxsters.... Very Undervalued Cars

Since it seems people are talking up the prices of their various Porsche cars i think its about time the Boxsters had a go at upping our own prices.
We have all taken a hammering in price in the last year or so ..............

We 986s are

Cheap to run
Cheap to service
Cheap to insure
Cheap to buy
Easy to drive
Dont smell of oil
Have carpets
Some have aircon
We dont steam up in the wet
We have 2 luggage compartments

also...........
Extremely rare in Arctic Silver [:D]
You hardly ever see another Boxster on the roads [;)]

Why the sudden drop in value ?
supply and demand ?

I really like my BoxS but if anyone wants a straight swap for a 993 C4S then contact me direct at notgotahopeinsh1t@aol.com [:)]

You forgot to mention, great name

Actually, in all seriousness, the Boxster is terrific sports car. Shame they've never made a Club Sport variant.

A new one is a viable alternative to a C2 Cab, if you don't need the rear seats.

And, a cheap one, ideally 3.2S, lightened and optimised, would make a great track car project.

We ought to stick to facts Elliot.

Easy to drive
Dont smell of oil
Have carpets
Some have aircon
We have 2 luggage compartments

Are certainly true,

Cheap to run
Cheap to service
Cheap to insure
Cheap to buy

Are certainly relative - I didn't realise that Police pay was that competitive!

We don't steam up in the wet

Definitely not!

JCB..

If you want to help drive the price back up I would drop the 'cheap to..' points and concentrate on the real positives like:

Easy to drive normally
Brilliant to drive quickly [:)]
More 'presence' on the road than any other roadster
More practical than any other roadster
Sounds much, much better than any other roadster

When you pull up at the traffic lights next to an Audi TT or Honda S2000 and they look away - you just know that you made the right choice [:D].

We have that problem when we pull up at traffic lights next to Boxsters ---- Only Joking

I agree that they are very good value indeed as a second hand car, especially if you go to the trouble of ensuring you buy a prime example.

Not me mate. I can't resist but look over and think mmm...I'm progressing in the right direction...may be one day [:)]

Just a minute folks. On Saturday a little bird at the Boxster event at the Reading Porsche HQ told me that a mid-mark Boxster will be more powerful than the exisiting Boxsters. I suspect that this means a year or two of waiting until a 3.4 litre engine is dropped into the Boxster S or the 'chip' is modified considerably - unless it beomes a Boxster RS and competes directly with the Cayman. But I expect that teh Caymen RS will be upon us by then. Clever marketers these Porsche people.

Just thought that I would let you think on this one....
