HI Having got the removal of my PU on my 996 I decided it would be a good thing to do the same on my 986 2003

Nothing on youtube or 101 Projects

Lift the spoiler manually at the fuse box

First you remove the 4 Screws inside the Engine Compartment. NO You have to remove the Spoiler to get at three screws
No problem with the Early 2.4 There are three pins you push out to get the painted top cover off

It is actually easier on the later 2003 model your just pull the top up and back to unclip the front and then move it up and back to unclip the whole cover

Two socket bolts remove the main under support from the top of the two units that lift the spoiler
Drop the Spoiler units back at the fuse box

Now you can get at the three cross head screws - mine where difficult to remove I used Plus Gas

Now Make sure the bumper cant drop - put an old rug or duvet cover on the ground

There are three crews each side and two under the rear of the bumper

Firstly LOOSEN all the screws ( Maybe leave the three under the Spoiler loose until you are ready
Using a long extension you can get at the crosshead screw at the top of the bumper right behind the rear wheel arch

Two under the sides need loosening and the one underneath (Cross head_) EACH SIDE
UNconnect the Numberr Plate light socket

Bumper can know be pulled out under wheel arch
And should come off

EASY ACCESS to Wheel arches just by removing two Plastic Headed Nut under front of wheel arch

4 Nuts to remove Rear Wheel Cover

THis will all need cleaning and expect some Rot/ Rust

Easy Peasy when you know how
