I live in spain and nearest dealer is some 75K's away - cannot move the car other than under tick over revs also porsche alarm system will not check out, again obvious lids, hood glove box etc checked but still will not de-activate off the key or off the door lock any suggestions?

Regards Bob

I think you should ask for advise on the Boxster forum on this, I don't know the answer to your problem, but I'm pretty sure the S doesn't have a cable ! So you looking at an electrical problem.

The alarm system deactivation can be achieved without the remote key fob, unlock the doors with the key and insert into and turn on the ignition within 10 seconds.

The throttle fault, take the lid off the engine, in the centre area you will see the throttle housing, check the cable is wrapped around the large horseshoe as i does sometimes come off and the cable jams in the body, you will feel this at the pedal as it will not go down to the floor.
Check the cable adjustment itself (has the jam occurred and you forced the pedal down?)
with the engine running twist the horseshoe to open the throttle manually to test

Can't think of anything else to check

I thought it was an e-throttle in the Boxster, i.e. "drive by wire". It talks about the engine management system governing the electronic throttle in the brochure thingy.

The throttle is cable opperated, it does have a throttle sensor which informs the engine management system when the butterfly is opened.
I assume all Boxsters are the same and mine definately has a cable.
