Boxter V boxter S

Crabbers

New member
Hello all.
I've just test driven a 3.4 Boxter S which was fantastic. I do wonder however if the additional performance over the standard car is something I would notice at sane speeds on public roads, or will I just part company with my licence that bit earlier?

Anyone owned both & care to comment?

Cheers

welcome!!

if you are worried about your licence you could always buy my aygo[:D]

non s boxster plenty fun enough ,but you will notice the difference in punch when you back to back test them.

if you want the extra grunt(and i certainly did!) then go for it,otherwise you will still have a very nice piece of kit(lot more fun than an aygo!)

I have just been through the same test drive process, driving the S and non-S back to back (interestingly enough the S was manual and the non-S was PDK), drove the S manual first and that was great then drive the non S with the PDK and really felt I missed the punch, despite the better gear action of the PDK.
So all in all I ordered the S with PDK and can't wait for delivery.[:D]

You really need to test drive the non S to make an informed decision I have driven both and you do notice the difference with the extra horse power but I have been happy with 2 non S models over the past few years. If you do test a non S I would make sure it's a gen 2 (2.9) as having owned both I was surprised at the difference in performance over the 2.7 with the extra torque available earlier in the rev range you might find it's all you need, also check out this article.
