BP 102 RON

I saw on TV last night that BP are now selling 102RON Ultimate fuel near tracks so people doing track days can fill up on it.

Has anyone tried it, if not will the knock sensors be able to make effective use of that much extra RON?

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the knock sensor's "default" position is 98 and only moves as it detects knock (ie it does not try to go past the 98 setting) - so even Vpower is over specified! (Not that I can ever find Vpower up here[:(])

Every Shell garage I've been to in the Central Belt sells it, sure you're not looking for it at the wrong franchises Mark? [:D][:D]

But not north of the central belt. Eg try to drive up to Fort William (or beyond). The BP in Balloch has 97 and that's it. The two Shells near Glen Coe stopped Optimax (it was that long ago) and indeed have now both changed brands.

I guess Inverness has some. I saw no super of any sort on Skye while I was there for 2 weeks back in August.
