Well it's that time of year again, time to sign up for the annual classic vehicle rally that runs from Bradford to Morcambe on Sunday September 14th. This is sponsored by JCT600 and they pay our entry fee and provide a rather stunning afternoon tea for club members at the Midland Hotel in the afternoon.

If we get club members and their Porsches to come along then JCT600 will donate an extra £500 to the supported charity which I believe is a Yorkshire cancer support charity.

The downside is that I need to know if you want to come in the next 10 days!

Yes we'll do it Mark. Can't wait to be frozen stiff and wet through to the skin again whilst wasting 50 kwids worth of petrol. Cream tea makes it all worthwhile though! [:D]

I think after the last few years of driving through the pouring rain and arriving at the coast only to have to return early without being able to get out of the car or get drenched, you can leave us out this year Mark.
Never been on such a miserable run!
Now, if it was arranged for August, it might create more interest but September doesn't quite attract the same numbers.
Besides, the West coast doesn't quite compare with the East coast!

Is there an age restriction on vehicle?

Not for Porsche owners Graham.

It is about time one of these runs was dry, law of averages and all that. Mid September doesn't strike me as a far out date to hold such an event. I would assume that August would not be possible as it's high season.

Thanks everybody!

As R5 interlopers Linda and I had a great day, to those who suffered with lousy weather last year the good news today was that it was a virtually dry day and a thoroughly enjoyable event.

To the overall organisers, Gerry in particular thanks for letting us in late.

To Christine from JCT600 who sorted the Porsche Club entry and provided tea at the Midland Hotel Morecambe thanks a million and thanks too to everyone at the Yorkshire Region who made us so welcome - what a great day!

If anyone has piccies of the day please post we were having charging problems and ended up with none!

I agree with everything Peter & Linda have said it was a great social gathering. Not only at the Midland Hotel, but with the bacon butties at Kirby Lonsdale. A great day out, and the sun was shining as we drove home via The Trough of Bowland.

Yes we had a lovely day for a change. Morecambe was its usual vibrant, exotic self but the excellent cream tea made up for it again. We finished the weekend with a stay in a beautiful hotel in Grange Oversands and got back Monday evening after a very welcome break.

Thanks to Chris and JCT for sponsoring the event- most enjoyable.

Chris and Linda
