Brake bleeding and clutch????

As stated MOT failurewill have to bleed brakes, front only. There are two bleed valves on each caliper? Std C2 brakes.
What is the best process to bleed brakes, I would not be using a pressure bleed, unless your comments were that it is a must. Will use the old process of someone pressing the brake pedal. Further reading has stated that the clutch has to be bled also?????? I know the reservoir is common but as I will be ensuring that the reservoir never empties I would have thouht I would get away without bleeding the clutch. My first aproach would be to try the clutch first.
