Brake caliper bolts

Just looking through some other threads and noticed comments on the above. I am just about to replace the front discs and pads on my Boxster and wondered what else I should or must replace at the same time please? Also, what is the correct torque setting for the caliper bolts?

handy just about to do a brake change and was after the torque bolt setting . the consumables cost £200 on top of the brakes (not shown) !!

Holy cow! What consumables? (I already have the front pads and discs). I see you have gone for grooved rather than drilled for the front discs - any reason why?

Steve,

You may want to consider replacing the pad anti-rattle dampers and wear sensors, which the PC's may consider "consumables".

Drilled discs can be prone to cracks developing between the cooling holes; grooved discs are more robust in this respect. If you're doing a lot of track days it's advisable to keep the holes clear by running a suitable drill through them.

heat kills the ceramic pucks In the calipers , filled holes makes loads of heat :-(

one not only gets cracked disks, the calipers are ruined !!! as you cannot buy the pucks !

Sounds painfull! I do already drill out the holes periodically but thanks for the confirmation it is worthwhile.
