Brake calliper refurbishment

Can anyone give me a clue where to go or how to get hold of a paint kit to make my Brake calliper look more respectable?

How do you re-produce the Porsche logo other than by hand?

I bought a brake lacquer kit from Halfords.

It worked OK, but you don' t want to get the pressure washer on it or it' s touch up time[:(]

For the first application, and for prior cleaning, it is probably easier to remove the calipers from the car.

The lacquer is a two part material and goes on quite gloopy (technical term) but don' t be too particular, it is surprising how the brush marks seem to flatten out.

Once dry, which seems to take forever - a couple of days from memory, you can de-nib and polish back with wet and dry an T cut if you think it' s required.

I regained the porsche lettering by scraping off the lacquer with a Stanley knife blade and then polishing up the surface with wet & dry wrapped around an old credit card.

At the end of the day they are brake calipers, and they aren' t going to stay immaculate no matter how well you paint them in the first place. The only time anyone will see the whole calliper (assuming they aren' t steeling the wheels) is when the wheels are going round, so they ain' t gonna be that close!

Well how informative was that!?! [:)]
