Hi Guys

I'm going to replace the front discs on my 2001 Boxster S and I'm looking for a brake disc package, both Design 911 and Porscheshop are offering these.

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/pt66_911_-cma81-cmo82-ct289/Porsche/Boxster/Boxster-S-986-32L-1999-02/Brake-Pads---Disc-Package

Does anyone have any comments on the merits of either deal or know of a better deal out there in cyberspace?

Cheers
JJ

I can only comment on Design 911 as I have used them in the past and been very impressed with the quality of the OEM parts but also the prices for original Porsche parts. As my boxster's have still been in warranty so to keep things right I have fitted originals.

I've fitted a number of sets of the textar/sebro combination from Design911 over the years.

Would not spend the time looking elsewhere to be honest.

I called into their shop on tuesday to buy some 18" replica wheels and tyres. done the deal at £1400.00 ( Web price to anybody) then showed my PCGB membership card, they refused to give a further discount as the alloys where reduced by £100.00. I tried to explain that if I was Joe Bloggs with no PCGB membership I would get them for the same price. Anyone had the same problem or should I take it further.

Ps I payed a deposit for the wheels and tyres but the michelin PS are out of stock. can you please advise ASAP

PPS sorry to post my prob here, I slightly got carried away.

I'v been told their brake package is excellent and require the fronts myself, but I will wait for the above wheel problem is resolved.

Hi Mick
I called 911 recently to ask about club discount and was told we were offered 5% when quoting our club membership number. If we did it over the net we have to type in a special code on the order page. I was given the code but it didn't work for me, it informed me that it couldn't be applied to my order. I'll phone them back and find out what, if anything, I'm doing wrong. I may sound ungrateful here but 5% isn't a lot, I can usually, with a bit of haggling get slightly more than that but perhaps it's a sign of the times.
Best of luck with the wheels, your problems seem worthy of a new post.

The on-line discount code has always worked for me but I guess it wouldn't apply if buying something that was on special offer.

Personally I wouldn't buy 'genuine Porsche parts' from them because as said you can get more discount at the OPC counter.
