Brake disc screws

Couple of quick questions:
I've had to drill out the 2 countersunk screws to remove my front discs[]. I can't see what they are for other than locating the disc when fitting, am I missing something obvious?

Are replacements available?

Cheers
Darren.

That is their only purpose - they aren't essential (and have been suggested as the potential cause of judder if over-tightened).

Yes you can get spares, but before that - spend £15 and get yourself an Impact Driver - Unless they'd already been wrecked by a previous owner, this would have removed them with ease. [8D]

I don't think you're missing anything - I don't know if they are an unusual size, but I wouldn't expect them to be expensive, even from Porsche. If you do go the Porsche route try Exeter OPC parts - they will post out free

I guess breakers have millions of these screws kicking around - unless they bin them.

Utterly standard M8x15 (I think - check) countersunk CSK screws. 200 for about 80p from screwfix. And those are with allen key heads (rather than pozidrive), which makes them much easier to remove if they seize.

PM me your address and I'll post you a small handful.
