Brake Discs Advice: OEM or Non OEM ?

Hi I've been researching brake discs for my Boxster. I have been very pleased with the standard original discs, but now as these are due for replacement I thought it would be a good opportunity to see what else is out there. I intend to participate in one or two trackdays this year so also need this in mind and my daily use is very low - no more than 3k a year !

Having researched I think we have:

Black Diamond (expensive)
Original Equip Porsche
Sebro
ATE
Pagid
Textar (cheapest)
Zimmerman - cannot find anywhere.

Is there anymake I should avoid ? Any experience of the above in terms of quality ? I don't mind paying premium but as I will only see occasional track use and with such low mileage is it worth the extra bucks?

GSF sold me Zimmermann discs. Pagid and textar ones are made by TMD Friction Group. Original Porsche pads are made by Textar. Sebro discs are good too. I've seen Walher Rohrl advertise them.

ORIGINAL: sleeper

Look for grooved floating discs.
Personally i would stay away from drilled as they can crack

Evidence? Can't say I've ever heard this is a particular problem with the standard drilled discs fitted to the S.

I suspect sleeper means that if the discs are used hard on tracks or abused by overheating them frequently, small cracks can appear to radiate out of the drilled holes. I've not seen them on the discs of my old car when I changed them at 60k miles or on the turbo at 25k miles. All other road used cars only I've seen similarly have not been affected.

I have bought three sets from Design 911 over the years, with the Sebro Disks and Textar pads - no complaints at all.....
