Brake light mods?

I seem to remember reading on here a while ago that there is a modification with the rear light where you can increase the size of the brake lights to take up more of the lights (if that makes sense) and in turn be more effective. I've tried searching but can't find it, can any one help or has anyone made this mod?

Cheers

Neither the taillight/reflector or the foglight lenses are e-marked for use as brakelights so it'd fail an MOT if you used those. US cars use the foglight sections (inner-most upper & lower sections) as brakelights but the lenses are different.

The wiring would be pretty straightforward though, and lenses can be changed with a dremel & patience.

I must admit that I don't think the rear end of the 944 is the most attractive feature of it and the lights do look pretty naff - and don't work too well either. I do like the rear of the 968 better from an asthetic point of view, though i'd never have the courage to fit a 968 rear end on my car. The thought did cross my mind a couple of years ago when I was rear-ended and needed a new rear panel to install a 968 rear panel instead, but only for a second or two.

If you do this, you can probably do pretty much whatever you like with the brake lights ....

Mmmm, lovely! (John Sims, can I borrow that bucket once you have finished hurling into it over those wheels!)

Oli.
