Brake line fix?

chard

New member
Just got my car back from a minor service and all seems well apart from being advised that all the brake lines are corroded and "may" require replacement for the next mot. Being brakes I feel that it would be best to change them sooner rather than later. Has anyone done this as a diy and if so any advise would be most welcome? Thanks

My pipes for rear were corroded and I bought replacement pipes from porsche for my C4. When I went to replace then the garage replaced the near side one and then custom made a copper one for the otherside.
If they are corroded I would get them done asap as you could end up with a leak at any time resulting in a malfunction. not waht you need to a fast car..

I was informed that mine were rusty. Took it in for an mot and got a call from the garage telling me that the brake pipes had burst and the brake fluid was all over the garage floor when put on the rolling road. They were so corroded that all lines had to be done. They did comment that the job was not an easy one and whilst I don't mind a challenge, this one was left with the garage. If they are corroded you will probably find it is not an isolated case and the real question is how much you wish to replace. I was informed in the past that if you strengthen a line by replacing them new, you can put pressure on other lines. Good luck.
