Brake Pads - Advice Soonest please!

All,
J70RSL is currently at 9m for a service, fr disks and pads are needed + dizzy caps/rotors/engine lid struts etc.

Disks will be OEM, should I go OEM or Pagid Yellows on the pads? Car is mainly track use with driving to/from track.

Previously been OK with OEM pads altho I am getting the fluid changed to SRF as I boiled the std stuff!

Definitely stick with OE discs - they seem to hold up much better, and the hubs are painted so they don't rust etc (not going to get into the argument about whether the OE discs have cast-in holes rather than after market which are "drilled" - no one has managed to convince me on that one !)
As for pads, the Pagid Yellows are extremely effective on track and wear very well, but they squeal like hell with road use - can be embarassing when driving through town and you pull up at the lights sounding like a London bus !
I will stick with the RS29s, and I imagine you can't be all that self conscious driving that big yellow thing around, so give them a try !!!!!

Hi Kevin , advise you to stick with OEM pads . I've got Pagid yellows all round but the noise is excessive and they are really meant for endurance racing. Olav Gelissen and PhilRS would support me in this
 
If your in Walters league uprate the pads - otherwise std pads & discs with SRF will be fine but if you want real advice - ask Colin or one of the guys up there. If you do go for non std pads be prepared to change the discs more frequently.

I don't know what stock is like in the UK, but AFAIK, Pagid has rationalised their compounds and RS29's are no longer made. Yellows now refer to RS19's which have replaced the RS29's. IMO, I do not know why you guys are messing about. The best pad for an RS is the RS15 (grey). I have never understood why you would go for anything else if you are upgrading. the modulation is as good as both the yellows and Black (RS14) yet they have far higher grip. And don't worry about the disks. I have run them for a mix of road and track use and at the last service, after 10k miles on the road, 3 track days and 3 supersprints, the disks were considered OK for at least the same again! (maybe I forget to brake[&:]). Even then, disks don't cost that much and it is worth it to have the best brakes out there. And they don't squeal too much
 
Another option is PFC97 pads. A bit noisy but they are very effective and last for ages (I've had about 12 track days out of a set). They work best with PFC discs, but pretty good with the OEM ones as well. Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport is making up a PFC front disc kit for the RS at the moment.
 
Given Kevin's intended use "Car is mainly track use with driving to/from track." my advice would be the Yellows.

I've just upgraded from OEM after having issues on track with OEM's. Fine for road use, great from cold and I've only noticed noise while parking and shunting around. And given their background they should last a goodwhile so although expensive, should work out in the long run.

RS-19 on mine.

Good cold and hot but not as hard on the discs as the greys.

John - Olav recommends the RS 4-2 Blue which I have on the CS.

OE are fine but they do disintegrate with the heat.
