Brake pads and supplier recommendations please

John Miles

New member
Need a new set of pads and would like to try a less dusty/dirty pad than the Porsche parts. They would need to cope with a typical PCGB track day use but also work coldish and not sqeal...
Any recomendations for alternatives that are easily available? Recomended suppliers?
Thanks,
John

TAKE IT TO THE TOP

I was wondering too about brake pads, when mine whill need changhing shortly. Anything particular pad grab you too hard/soft, too dusty, too loud etc. If you have had different pads on your 911 to compare then I would apprecaite your opinion.

Thanks

To be honest it depends on main use.

Often the main issue is getting enough cool air where to need it.

You may want to try braided hoses and a fluid change first (e.g. Castrol SRF)

There are plenty of good pad choices from Pagid, Mintex, Porterfield, EBC etc .......

If you do a fair bit of track work plus road, you could try a fast road pad to avoid warm up issues and excessive squeal.

I get all replacement pads, discs dot 5.1 fluid.etc from a local Lucas depot.Never had any problems.Wear indicators have to come from OPC.
