Brake shoes - Urgent requirement!

Guys,

I urgently need a set of brake shoes for the car - apart from my stopping distance being a little less than a sideline of a footie pitch, I am now begininng to feel a little grind through the steering wheel so I think I'd better change soon.

I have looked over all the discs tonight and they seem fine.

So where is the best and cheapest place to get a set of shoes. My local garage, who have just done my X5, just looked at me as if I had two heads!!! They will however fit them for me if I can get a set. (I am tempted to try myself but as I have never done brakes before, and I have a great 150 mile drive planned next weekend, I think I'd rather let someone who I can trust fit them).

So suggestions as to make, place and type all appreciated - especially if delivery can be ASAP.

Hope you are all enjoying the sunny days - I have not had the car for a good spin for a while but a classic show this weekend where I am exhibiting and then next week Monifieth on the East to Crinan on the West coast - check out the road!!!!

Best regards to all,

Frazer

Order a set from Design911 or Specialist Cars of Malton.

Hello anyone listening!!

Got the shoes fixed on the car. Original porsche parts and labour for £290!!

The big problem is however that the two bleed nipples on the front calipers are knackered.

So choice is new calipers or over the winter get them machined out and replaced. Any comments / suggestions.

Cheers..FB

Are they siezed in? If you have to remove to get machined out might be worth looking at exchnge refurbished units. I recall a company advertising in PP a while ago for this service. Will try to find supplier. Any pics of the problem ?
