Brake upgrade

The C4S already has the same brakes as the Turbo which is a significantly faster car and you don't get people thinking the brakes are lacking on it. Unless you're planning to do significant amounts of track work then don't bother. If you don't mind some fairly easy spannering then have a look at Eurocarparts for a set of OEM spec Brembo or Pagid discs and pads (don't forget new sensors and shims) and spend the money saved on a nice sounding exhaust.

bit of advice please. Hi guys n girls going to renew my brakes on my c4s the backs are very corroded on the inside also most of the drilled holes filled with old brake dust etc. I want to put an upgrade size to 350mm I have seen 355mm on design911 design tec, has any one fitted these or better can't bring myself to go the brembo route at over 5k. Are the standard brakes on the c4s brembo already but with the porsche labelling on them.

Thanks for this I will have a look into that and yes your right, they sound great I have a dansk system on mine and it sounds terrific

Sounds like the inner caliper pistons have seized (not sure if these calipers suffer plate lift that effectively jams the pad like previous generation cars), if you have rust on inner surfaces. The calipers can be refurb'ed with new seals, powder coated, logo etc. Check discs for wear too. Using braided hoses and 'super blue' brake fluid, especially tracking will help to improve progressive feel of your current setup at no huge cost.

You might want to just upgrade the pads, a somewhat cheaper option, but you'll notice the difference, specially when you are toeing it a bit and on and off the brakes - there's all sorts of after market options - Demon Tweaks has a good page on the subject here:

Inner face corrosion is very common on these cars when they are used sporadically. As already mentioned, I think you can choose pads and discs wisely and it not cost a fortune. I personally find PAGID discs corrode quicker than most and would recommend either Brembo or Sebro. Pads - again the choice is large. I would consider PAGID, but prefer Brembo ... They are all a similar price.

Kind Regards Lee

Looked into these brakes from design tec and they come from the Far East so that's put me off them. I have decided to go for the c4s/turbo brake package from design911 also with the money saved going for the calliper overhaul kits with new back plates front and back. Also waiting delivery of my new hydralic ramp I saw at the classic car show. Once in the air brakes done wheels sent of to be refurbished thinking of a slightly darker grey called black chrome hides the brake dust for a lot longer than the standard silver.

I've been offered some front gt3 brakes brand new but wanted to ask if they would fit on the front of c4s wheel size 18" with 350mm discs ?
