Brakepad wear sensors

I need some new brakepads and some wear sensors on the front . The local garage (non-porsche) has some 996 sensors, they used to service a local chaps car, he's sold it and the garage chap says I can have the sensors for nothing - if they fit!

Can I use 996 sensors on a 993 C2?
 
Cheers Maurice. I know they only cost around a tenner or so but how often do you get free parts from a garage? :)
