Brakes!!!

I am looking for some help.

My 12 failed the MOT on front brake distribution, more than 25 % difference from side to side.

I have removed the callipers, split, cleaned, fitted new seals, re-oiled, changed the pads, checked the 20 deg angle (whats that for by the way) and no change, the car still pulls to the right on braking.

I have noticed that the car does drift to the right without touching the brakes; the tracking seems ok, so not sure what is causing that either.

Let me have you ideas!

check the brake pipes - could be the 'flexible' pipe expanding. I had that happen once on a Ghia.

Just an idea

Hi Jon, any other symptoms?

Wheels hot to the touch after driving? Sure sign of a sticking caliper.
Uneven tyre wear?
Easier to turn at slow speeds one way rather than other?

(I have Goodrich braided hoses, a real good upgrade, go for that as David says.)

I haven't check the wheels for temp but have checked the dics, both where a simular temp after about 30 min driving.

I have already fitted the Goodrich braided hoses, about a year ago, they seem ok, I have even the changed the brake fluid + checked for leaks. I am going to swap the wheels round and see if that makes a difference, not sure if it will but maybe worth a try.

Thanks for the help, anymore ideas.

The current plan is to take the car for the re test and see what happens. I cant think of anything else to do or check, so fingers crossed.

I have no idea, I have changed all that I can think of, the only thing not done is the dics themselves. They look ok but could be no good, I'll wait and see.

looking forward to the France trip, I am going in the 12 no matter what the cost[&:]
